A common citation, and the one provided in Short Fiction edited by Sylvia Lyons Render, is Cleveland News and Herald December 1885. The print source for this digital text was the printing in the Saint Paul and Minneapolis Pioneer Press.
The text was scanned from the original magazine copy in the Jackson Library at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro or from a copy secured through interlibrary loan from other libraries across the country.
